Umbrella on it’s on gets an enthusiastic 5 stars. The lighting option, however is absolutely terrible. I paid extra for the Starlux because we wanted ambient lighting to eat dinner under. I can’t imagine anyone who cares about atmosphere choosing to use this lighting. It’s a BRIGHT cool white light that feels more hospital room than romantic bistro. Even on the dimmer setting, it totally kills the vibe. I turned it on once and when I discovered this, I literally never used it again. Such a disappointment and waste, especially since we really need extra lighting on our deck.

It was one of the only ones in this dimension that were not a full custom order. The lighting system has two levels of light and integrates very well into the umbrella. When its off, you cannot even tell they are lights! We think it is am amazing product for the money. Also, Luze Decor was easy and straightforward in terms of being an online retailer and comunication and transaction were seemless.

So far, I am very impressed with the AKZPLX umbrella. It provides much needed shade for my deck and the various adjustments allow me to reposition it throughout the day to provide maximum coverage. The lighting is excellent as well. I expect years of daily use based on the construction and the included cover. It's not cheap, but my original $300 cantilever umbrella didn't last a week before welds broke and plastic hinges started bending in the wrong direction. You get what you pay for...

I love to sit on our patio overlooking the lake we live on. Our patio faces due north so the sun hits the patio around 10:00am and is there until is sets. I looked at sails, and awnings. The challenge is two fold, moving with the sun and closing up when bad weather hits. This umbrella is 13' which covers a large area and moves in two planes so our sitting area can be covered from the sun and closed up when not in use. We ordered the Starlux lights just to have lights at night if we wanted. Not sure how often we will us this but it is there. I ordered a black umbrella with a black pole. The base is the external unit that holds sand and or water. It is black. The umbrella comes with a cover. I am disappointed that the cover is tan. This stands out when on the umbrella. I am in contact with Patio Living to get a black cover. This process is going slower than needs to be. I am hoping they will come thru with a black cover.
