  • 5.0 out of 5.0     Modern perfection in a floor lamp Stephen from  Estero, FL 10-12-2021 If you have looked for a floor lamp for your modern-looking room and have been dissappointed by other brands, you need to consider this incredible lamp by George Kovacs. I mistakenly bought two other floor lamps ($250each), believing I was buying a preminum grade product. They arrived and I put one together and realized it was not very stable and the fitting didn't line up. It would not even stand staight and would surely tip over when used. I packed it up and shipped them both back, never even opening the box for the second one. What a dissapointment! The I found this George Kovac's lamp and while I thought the design was a little plain, I realized they were just very bauhaus and streamlined. But the price scared me. Yet had a new living room to complete and was unable to find a decent product at a low price. So I bit the bullet and bought two if these lamps, still skeptical that they would stand right and provide the right light effect. I was stunned when I put together the first one. I knew instantly that these were both designed and engineered to a completely different standard. The base was heavier and provided great stability. The construction was solid and yu knew instantly these were high quality. The fixtures were completely directionally flexible but remained precisely where ever you set them. The light cast by the top torchierres shown upwards on my 13-foot walls in a subtle soft way, but turning the touch button up to the highest setting provided a daylight effect if desired, I could not be happier with these lights. So well engineered, so attractive. The lower reading laps are equally impressive. I am so happy with them --- well worth every penny (and I 'm a penny pincher).
